This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of National Association for Continuing Education and Challenger Corporation. The National Association for Continuing Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

This Self-Assessment CME program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 20.00 AAPA Category 1 Self-Assessment CME credits by the AAPA Review Panel. Approval is valid for one year from the release date of 07/01/2018. PAs should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This program was planned in accordance with AAPA CME Standards.

For NCCPA certification maintenance ONLY, NCCPA will now apply an additional 50 percent weighting when these self-assessment credits are logged for NCCPA certification maintenance purposes. PAs should log up to a maximum of 20.00 AAPA Category 1 Self-Assessment CME credits, as the additional weighting will be automatically applied by NCCPA.

What are the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants CME Requirements?

In 2014, The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) began transitioning certified PAs to a 10 year certification maintenance process. NCCPA certification maintenance currently requires that a PA:

✔ Take a recertification exam every 10 years.
✔ Earn 100 CME credits every two years, including at least 50 Category 1 CME credits.
✔ Pay a certification maintenance fee to NCCPA every two years.
